MEET THE COMMITTEE

Tracy Roberts - Vice Chair

In the Spring of 2013 – having spent what seemed like weeks cutting grass in preparation for our wedding at home - Ian & I decided that a couple of grass munching sheep would be a good addition to our new smallholding situated at Melling near Liverpool. We decided that our wedding gift to each other would be two sheep, to join our menagerie of chickens, horses and dogs. Neither of us had any experience or knowledge of sheep, but after scrolling through the many breeds on the internet found Coloured Ryelands, perfect for the smallholder and hobby farmer. I found a local breeder & purchased two coloured shearling ewes – we were hooked and 7 years on have 18 ewes, just 3 of which are coloured.

We have had some wonderful and very successful times over the years showing our sheep, and have met some amazing people who have become lifelong friends. Having previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry I now have a ceramics business which I run from my studio at home.
